QR codes, cashless payments and more: Ang-backed NAIA upgrades to automated parking system

Mar 03, 2025

San Miguel Corp.-led Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) has introduced an automated parking system at Terminal 3, designed to enhance convenience and streamline operations.

The system, launched by New NAIA Infra Corp. (NNIC), aims to reduce waiting times and improve traffic flow for airport visitors.

Drivers entering Terminal 3 will now receive an automated parking ticket at unmanned entrances and can exit using a QR code-based process, eliminating the need for manual transactions.

Real-time parking slot displays are set to be installed at Terminal 3 by April 2025, allowing drivers to check availability before entering. Terminals 1 and 2 will follow suit by May 2025.

Initially, the parking system only accepted cash payments. However, from March 14, 2025, the system will also support digital payment options, including GCash, PayMaya, and debit and credit cards, offering greater flexibility for users.

NNIC plans to implement autopay stations across all terminals by July 2025, further enhancing efficiency by speeding up payment processing.

The introduction of the automated parking system is part of NNIC’s ongoing efforts to modernize NAIA, improve operational efficiency, and meet the growing demand for customer-friendly services at the country’s busiest airport.
